The most affordable serious pitching machine you can buy is the mini polyball pitching machine. These machines throw the mini poly ball which helps to improve hand eye coordination as well.. To be a serious pitching machine (in my opinion) the machine must throw accurately and with suitable speed, as well as be able to throw breaking pitches.
You won’t beat the mini polyball pitching machines for their affordable price (“cheap”). They cost far less than baseball pitching machines and offer the same options (curve balls, pitch speed and accuracy) AND they don’t require the same type of expensive batting cage that the baseball pitching machine requires. The following machines are two wheel pitching machines, which incorporate a hopper and automatic ball feeder - features that you can’t even find on many expensive baseball or softball pitching machines.
The Crusher Curve A/C
The Personal Pitcher Pro
The Sandlot Slugger
The hopper on this machine is huge holding more than 100 balls. Made of a pliable plastic that is resistant to cracking if dropped etc.. It has the option of mounting on a tripod stand for baseball players, or being used with it’s own low-to-the-ground stand for softball players.
When it comes to an inexpensive pitching machine - that is not a toy, but made for real batting practice, the mini polyball pitching machines are the best.

The most inexpensive machine, uses A/C power (you will need to have an electrical outlet nearby), to power the machine which pitches fast balls up to 45 mph and curve balls. The hopper holds 24 balls which are fed via the rotating ball feeder. This machine comes with it’s own tripod (included) making it a real value.
The Crusher Curve A/C sells for around $100
The original mini Wiffle ball pitching machine. It throws excellent pitches! Fast balls up to 55mph, curve balls AND sliders. The curve balls are sweeping breaking balls from the left or right hand side. The sliders are harder with a smaller break. This machine holds 100 balls which are fed by the ball feeder every 6 or 8 seconds (selectable). There is a pitch indicator light with this machine which indicates that a ball is about to be pitched. An indicator light - you will not see on most baseball pitching machines.

This is the Nolan Ryan of the polyball pitching machines. It can be ordered with options, like a remote control shut off which allows the hitter to shut off the machine (more specifically it stops the ball feeder, the motors continue to run at full speed awaiting the next ball when the feeder is turned back on) from the batter’s box.
There is a Turbo upgrade which will increase the top speed from 60 mph to 70 mph! It will also throw pitches at 15 mph for beginners or close quarter hitting, with the turn of a knob.
The Personal Pitcher Pro sells for around $150
The Sandlot Slugger starts at around $200
